How my journey began
An unwelcome cancer diagnosis on March 28, 2023 set my life on a path I had not planned to travel. I considered myself a healthy person, but yet here I was…a cancer patient. As the journey started, I experienced a myriad of emotions - fear, anxiousness, and feeling overwhelmed. But I also experienced comfort, peace, hope, and confidence. I consider this journey a blessing in disguise as I learn more and more how to live. There are hidden treasures along the path.
It’s been humbling to have many people pray for me during this season. I pray that God honors each prayer and returns a blessing to each one who has prayed!
Many people have asked for updates. It’s been a part-time job just being me (with appointments, new daily regimens, and research) and continuing to work (although less hours). I’m a very high maintenance person right now! So, a blog was suggested to update and share some things I’ve learned. I hope the information might help someone else who finds themselves either walking this same path or walking with someone they love.
I called the domain and website Adele Hopes because it reflects how I have learned it is so important to have hope in a tough situation and to base my hope in what the scriptures say. To hope in things unseen. To behold the blessed hope of eternal life with JESUS. Without hope, we lose the desire to heal and live. We must have hope!
Teach me how to live, O Lord.
Lead me along the right path. Psalm 27:11
…that their hearts may be encouraged, being knit together in love, to reach all the riches of full assurance of understanding and the knowledge of God's mystery, which is Christ, in whom are HIDDEN ALL THE TREASURES of wisdom and knowledge. Colossians 2:2-3
Now faith is the assurance of things HOPED for, the conviction of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1
For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, while we wait for THE BLESSED HOPE —the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good. Titus 2:11-14
